This location is over 2500 years old was founded by the Greeks and is ‘ground zero’ of Orthodox in Russia.  It’s actually located  in the Crimea, on the Black Sea, just north of Turkey.  Over the  centuries, many countries have fought over this beautiful area.  The Charge of The Light Brigade ( charge of British cavalry led by Lord Cardigan against Russian forces during the Battle of Balaclava on 25 October 1854 in the Crimean War) is only a few kilometers  away.
