Joint event to be held in New York on September 5thseems to point to a new Windows Phone 8 line up  joint event in New York on September 5th, presumably unveiling a line of new smartphones running the new OS.
There’s not much other info available at the moment, though the invite has been marked up with Nokia Lumia and Windows Phone logos.
The interesting thing is the timing. Apple is widely expected to make an announcement on September 12th regarding its iPhone 5, so this would just beat it to the punch.
